Canadian Eastern Hemlock ~ (Tsuga canadensis) pure Essential Oil
$20.00
Tsuga canadensis, also known as eastern hemlock, eastern hemlock-spruce, or Canadian hemlock, and in the French-speaking regions of Canada as pruche du Canada, is a coniferous tree native to eastern North America. In Canada, it is present in Ontario and all provinces to the east except Newfoundland and Labrador. Due to its being a long-lived tree, several very large or otherwise impressive trees exist along the east coast of North America.
Hemlock essential oil has a fresh, woody, earthy, crisp, needle aroma. It is anti-microbial and helpful as a decongestant and expectorant. The needles and the oil distilled from the needles, branch tips, or branches of fresh fir shoots are used for medicine to help with coughs, the common cold, bronchitis, tuberculosis, fever, pain and swelling (inflammation) of the mouth and throat, muscle and nerve pain, and arthritis. It’s energizing and stimulating without being over stimulating. It is beneficial in remaining focused, optimistic, calm and balanced. Historically, Native North Americans heated the branches in steam baths called sweat lodges.
This is the hemlock essential oil we use in our creations. Sustainably Canadian forest wildcrafted, small batch steam distilled.
