In European traditional medicine Chickweed was used for a wide spectrum of conditions including, bronchitis, asthma and indigestion. Chickweed has soothing, cooling, hydrating, and healing properties. Long used for healing and soothing purposes, such as reducing inflammation and fighting germs, it’s extremely beneficial when used topically as an expectorant when you’re sick. Chickweed contains saponins, plant compounds that can alleviate inflamed mucous membranes and facilitate the breakup of secretions from the membranes. It acts as a demulcent and expectorant, helping to clear mucous and ease congestion in the lungs. Also high in many nutrients, including vitamin C and antioxidants, Chickweed helps to relieve inflammation in the nose, sinuses and respiratory tract whilst helping to eliminate the underlying cause of infection.
Completely essential oil free, this is made with wild harvested chickweed, menthol & camphor crystals, hemp oil and dark beeswax. Used to open the airways, relieving congestion and cooling a burning chest. Our synthetic & petroleum free version of drugstore chest rubs may help ease cold symptoms like nose and sinus congestion, dry and damp cough, and soothe inflamed lungs. Also excellent to ease allergy symptoms.
Apply externally to the chest, upper back & throat area as needed. This is quite strong, apply a very small amount to start!
