Green Death Cap & Rose Quartz Essence ~ Repression

Flower essences are a homeopathic remedy that have been used for years to help create mind-body-spirit balance. Unlike flowers, which are infused in the daytime sunlight, mushroom essences are created by the light of the Full Moon. Rainwater is slowly poured into the mushroom caps and they are left to bathe in the moon, infusing the water with only the spirit (“essence”) of the plant.

Green Death Cap essence was created for use for those experiencing defensiveness, depression, repression & long term sorrow. Historically the death cap has been the weapon of many poisoners through the centuries especially by ancient Greeks and Romans. We’ve chosen to work with this mushroom in this way to help bring a symbolic & spiritual death to these sometimes unbearable emotions. This is a gentle approach to healing, without physically taking this potent plant ally internally. Rose quartz is worked with & infused in each individual bottle to bring self love to one in the form of unconditional love, compassion and forgiveness.

Death caps are able to produce circles of fruiting bodies, known as fairy rings, which over centuries have been the subject of fairy tales and folklore. In the county of Essex in England there is a rhyme: When the moon is at the full, Mushrooms you may freely pull., But when the moon is on the wane, Wait ere you think to pluck again. Witches have long used fungi in their potions in Europe, and sorcerers and magicians in other cultures have also employed fungi. In France fairy rings were called sorcerers’ rings and in Austria, witches’ rings. In Europe, the belief that fungi were the work of evil spirits or witches persisted well into the 19th century. In England, as their name suggests, they were places where fairies come to dance. The mushrooms around the perimeter were seats where the sprites could rest after their exertions. People in rural England claimed to have seen fairies dancing at fairy rings as recently as the start of the twentieth century. One common theme in all these traditions is the belief that dire consequences await anyone foolhardy enough to enter a fairy ring. Trespassers would be struck blind or lame, or even disappear to become slaves in the fairies’ underground realm. In Wales the rings were associated with fertility and doom, and anyone foolish enough to plow one up would incur the wrath of the fairies. On the positive side, fairy rings were said to bring good luck to houses built in fields where they occur. In another tradition, the rings were sites of buried treasure, but there was a catch—the treasure could only be retrieved with the help of fairies or witches. Fungi have been the focus of many other superstitious beliefs and traditions. In New England folklore, a fungus called the “death baby” growing in the yard is a harbinger of imminent death in the family. In the district of Norrland in Sweden there is a tradition of throwing toadstools into bonfires on midsummer’s eve to ward off evil spirits.

Unlike essential oils or herbal extracts that contain the physical substances extracted from plants, there is no physical part of the flower left in a flower essence. Instead they work on similar principles to Homeopathy, in which the life-force and vibrational signature of the plant is imprinted within a water-based matrix. This is achieved through sun-steeping the flowers in water for a period of time. The water is then collected, strained and potentised through dilution methods.

The earliest European recorded use of flower essences was by abbess Hildegard von Bingen in the twelfth century, who would place muslin sheets over flowers at night to absorb their dew, which would then be collected in the morning, rung out, and used to treat people with emotional imbalances. Flower essences work by the principle of resonance within the subtle human energy field, which impacts one’s physical and emotional health. In other words, flower essences are based on vibrational energetics, rather than biochemical, and stimulate the body’s natural capacity to bring itself back to homeostasis. All plants carry vibrational energy patterns, and it is said that flowers are the pinnacle of this energy.

It is proven that our mental responses to life events and predisposed conditions can cause physical illnesses within our bodies, creating further mental and spiritual distress. It is recommended to research the history and benefits of flower essences to further understand the amazing uses and how these can be a catalyst for much needed personal healing and growth at all levels of ourselves, mind-body-spirit.

Add 1-3 drops of the flower essence to a drink or directly to the mouth. It can also be added to bath water, applied directly to the hands, anointed onto self and candles for spiritual work.

This is a pure, unscented mushroom essence in a base of rain water & brandy.
