There is a particular warmth to a life lived close to the land, where wool carries the soft, animal scent of the flock, hay perfumes the rafters of the barn, and the sweetness of beeswax lingers on old wooden shelves.

Homestead opens with golden hay and chamomile warmed by the sun, settling into the rich, lanolin softness of wool absolute, with its beautiful hint of the animal still close to the fleece. Beeswax lends a quiet honeyed warmth, while cedarwood and oakmoss bring the scent down to earth ~ weathered boards, pasture after rain, dark soil beneath the garden and green herbs gathered with their roots still fragrant.

It has the intimacy of early morning on a small farm, when the goats are already awake at the fence and wool sweaters are pulled on against the cool air, when the kitchen carries the scent of yesterday’s bread and dried herbs and the barn is warm with hay and animals. A little wild, deeply comforting, and entirely grounded in the living earth.
