Natural Sea Sponge

Natural sponges create a rich luxurious lather, are highly absorbent and suitable for the most sensitive skin. And because sea sponges are so durable, they are ideal for daily shower, bath and spa use.

Sea sponges have top-notch exfoliating, circulation-boosting, and radiance-enhancing abilities. Their texture allows for the gentle but effective removal of dead skin cells and dry, flaky patches to give you softer, smoother skin.

Sea sponges contain minerals that are good for your skin, including: calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, zinc, and potassium. Suitable for all skin types, they gently exfoliate to leave skin looking hydrated and fresh.

As a natural product, sea sponges are biodegradable, hypoallergenic and free of chemicals, artificial byproducts or toxins. They’re highly absorbent, ultra-soft and won’t absorb odors like other products. In fact, they contain enzymes that inhibit mold and bacteria growth which extends their lifetime.

Wet the sponge in warm water as you step in the shower or bath. Once it’s dense with moisture, pump in a few drops of shower gel or add the lather from your bar soap. Scrub gently on the body.

The risks associated with diving and harvesting, its rarity, its demanding processing, all make it a costly product. Only 6-7 species of sea sponges (out of the more than 8,000) are of any commercial value.

Do sea sponges grow back? Sponges have a remarkable capacity to rapidly regenerate in response to wound infliction. In addition, sponges rapidly renew their filter systems (choanocytes) to maintain a healthy population of cells.
