Papier d’Arménie Depuis 1885 ~ Traditional French Perfume Incense Paper

CAD $10.00

Created in France in 1885 by perfumer Auguste Ponsot, Papier d’Arménie is one of the oldest and most beloved traditions of French perfumery.

Inspired during his travels through Armenia, where benzoin resin was burned to scent and purify the air, Ponsot brought this practice home and crafted a form both elegant and practical ~ perfumed paper sheets imbued with warm, resinous fragrance.

To this day, each booklet is produced with the same care, its strips steeped in benzoin resin from Laos, blended with rose and other noble essences, and matured for months to allow the perfume to set.

When folded accordion-style, lit, and then quickly extinguished, the paper smolders gently, releasing a soft, ambered smoke that cleanses and perfumes a room with its familiar, comforting aroma.

Praised and trusted in French households for more than a century, Papier d’Arménie is both apothecary and ritual; a perfumer’s creation that transforms air into atmosphere.

Each booklet holds thirty-six strips, offering not just a product, but a daily rite of refinement and authenticity, made in France with devotion to its original formula.

Made in France

Each booklet contains 36 strips.
