HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! Embrace the rainbow!

Those of you that have been around us for a while now know that every June, we create rainbow goodies to celebrate pride, help raise awareness and funds for our local LGBTQ2IA+ community.

This year we have a little rainbow kit which includes a soy candle topped with rainbow sparkles & stars, an oil blend infused with sparkles, a rainbow candle for one’s altar, a rainbow pin and flag. The essential oil blend included in both the candle & oil is a full rainbow spectrum of lilac, lavender, orange, lemon, cinnamon, ylang ylang, peppermint and rosemary. Created to show support, inspire, uplift, bring together, shine bright and remind us that love is love, no matter who you are! A lovely gift to show oneself more self love, or to send to a loved one to show as support. Proceeds from this limited edition 2020 collection will be going to the amazing CHEW Project YEG. 

The CHEW Project started in 2014 with the purpose of providing sexual health education to queer youth and young adults facing barriers. It soon became clear that these youth and young adults had limited resources and little frontline support, especially around mental health, housing, substance use, and survival sex. In late 2015, the project evolved into an outreach project providing frontline support and services. They continued to grow, and by 2017, they created an Indigenous peer support position, which still flourishes, as well as a counselling team to provide long-term mental health supports. With the generous support of our community, they were able to officially open the new outreach office, the OUTpost, in March 2020. The OUTpost functions as a safe space for youth to rest, eat, shower, do laundry, connect with others, and get off the street. Their goal is to reduce homelessness, suicide, substance use, and mental health concerns by providing a safe space and services particular to the needs of LGBTQ2S+ youth and young adults.
